MuseBud, a generative MIDI sequencer, allows users to define possibilities and customize various aspects of note creation. Options include notes, octaves, note lengths, velocities, gate lengths, and ratchets.

Each mode (note, octave, duration, velocity, gate, ratchet) features its own parameters that can be adjusted using faders on the main UI to set the likelihood of each parameter being selected. Users can exclude parameters by assigning them a 0% chance. Convenient features like the draw mode and 'All 0%' and 'All 100%' buttons on the bottom toolbar enable quick adjustments.

When initiating playback in the standalone app or the AUv3 host app, MuseBud continuously generates notes. The looper functionality can record up to 64 notes in its buffer, allowing users to loop back a preferred section in the sequence by setting start points and step counts. Toggling the record button on the looper prevents new notes from being recorded.

Editing steps in the looper is simple; users can delete or edit steps by tapping on them and selecting an action from the popup menu. The step editor allows modifications to properties like note, duration, octave, velocity, gate length, and ratchet count.

Users can create various patterns for multiple generative sequences. Each pattern includes its own looper buffer, facilitating experimentation without losing randomization settings when duplicating existing patterns.

<li>Octaves: Range from -1 to +9.</li>
<li>Note Duration: Extends up to 4 bars or down to 1/64th note.</li>
<li>Velocity: Adjustable between 0-127; fader grouping available for quicker assignments.</li>
<li>Gate Length: Variable from 0% to 100%; fader grouping button enables streamlined adjustments.</li>
<li>Ratchets: Choosing between 1 (no ratchets), 2, 3, or 4 repeats.</li>
</ul>

To achieve optimal results, users are encouraged to finely tune possibilities and consider excluding parameters for enhanced precision.

MuseBud operates as a MIDI app and needs to route its MIDI output to an audio app's MIDI input for sound generation. The AUv3 plugin app necessitates an AUv3 host app like AUM, Loopy Pro, Logic Pro, Cubasis, Nanostudio, or apeMatrix for utilization.
